Bulimba Residence
When interior designer Hong Henwood brought a residential project in Bulimba, Queensland to Formatek, the brief called for custom upholstery across entertainment, living, bedroom and outdoor spaces. The scope was comprehensive: a custom movie lounge with ottoman, acoustic wall panelling, a full living room suite, six bedheads and matching frames with integrated powerpoints and reading lights, and an outdoor curve bench. Every piece was upholstered in Zepel fabrics, with the palette moving from velvet to boucle. Custom patterns were developed for each item at the Nambour workshop, and electrical integration was built into the bedhead frames before fit-out. The result is a home tailored down to the last seam, fabric and join.
